SPOTLIGHT HELP

by cranelines » Tue Nov 22, 2011 11:04 pm

Hi

I have inherited spotlights in my bathroom and toilet (separate rooms). All of a sudden they have stopped working.

Obviously changed the bulbs first, but no change. Have found that they seem to run off the same transformer and have changed that but still nothing.

They have separate switches so presuming it cant be that either.

Strangely the 3 in the bathroom are 'prong' fitting but the 2 in the toilet are 'mushroom lugs'.

Any advice of what to try next?

I will guess prong fitting is GU5.3 so 12 volt and mushroom GU10 so 230 volt so unlikely the transformer. I would be looking for a fused connection unit (FCU) or a MCB/fuse at main consumer unit/fuse box. Also any work on another light may have caused a disconnection at the ceiling rose.
