Stain keeps appearing through paint...help!

by sleepysunday » Fri Mar 28, 2008 5:07 pm

Hi,

We had a leak in our roof 18 months ago and since then have had a new roof and the wall has dried out in our bedroom. I have scraped away all the old paint and some plaster and have used an eco friendly stainblock on the area which normally requires 2 coats, however every time i put it on the stain marks come through.

Has anyone got any suggestions? I need to finish painting this room asap and know the wall is completely dry.....

Thanks

Sally

hi the best stain block is international stain block you can get it fron b&q or homebase e.c.t as you need a stain block with a high pigment content.
most eco frendley paints a water base witch allows the stain to penatrate each coat of paint
hope this helps
