Staircase Winder Modifications for new Doorway

Post by jr2981 » Thu Feb 09, 2017 1:52 pm

Hi all,

new member here, i've been scouring the internet looking for some guidance on some building work i'm looking to get completed this year. See attached sketches of the plan location and stair concept.

I'm looking to add a new doorway into my extension the position of which will be where my staircase winder begins, in order to give access to the new door way i would need the 90 degree winder to be modified to create a landing and then steps at either side with additional steps up to my new doorway (hopefully this still makes sense?).

My query is whether is is feasible from a joinery perspective or whether there's a better solution?

thanks for your help.
