steam from auto air vent on worcester 24 cdi boiler

by uk_ducati » Mon Feb 23, 2009 9:32 pm

hi

my hot water has stopped working. i went to check the boiler to see if it was on and notice there was no flame on when the water was running and steam was coming out of the auto air vent. i then stopped the tap let the boiler cool down for a while and turned the tap on again. on checking the boiler it lights up for about 5-10 seconds and then shuts off. soon after this steam starts coming out of the air vent again.

could it be that the pump has stopped working so the water is not being pumped around the water to water heat exchanger.

i have just had the diaphragm changed on the divertor valve. but it worked after this was done.

cheers

Probably the pump is stuck or needs venting.

i checked the pump and for some reason it does not work when it is on number 1. i have clicked it up to 3 and it now works fine
