Stepped on Tape Measure, Tape Broken in Two - How can I Repair?

I stepped on my tape measure (Stanley 3m/10ft) today and broke the tape in two.
Any suggestions how to repair this? Maybe with an extra strong adhesive tape?
I might just try some epoxy resin when I get the time and hope it does the trick.

You have got to be joking, A rule is one of the most important tools in the kit. Every job you do is reliant on it's accuracy. Sling it in the bin !
