I am trying to impress my in laws by fixing their rap which has been leaking years and apparently even a plumber couldn't fix. I think I need to access the cartridge but can't seem to do this directly through either of the taps. Please let me know if you had any ideas
Hi sanglier78 From what I recall you need to remove the handles, undo the handle shaft which then releases the valve end cap. You can then remove the shroud but this is only the start of your problems because you will need to find replacement ceramic cartridges. Regards S
Hi, thanks for taking the time to respond. I've managed to take off the white handles on all three taps and the end screws, I could pull off the silver part of the handle on one tap only as you can hopefully see from the pictures. I can't access the cartridge yet though, do I need to remove the tapered chrome covers? If so with what tool?
Hi sanglier78 Yes you need to remove the chrome bell covers, they look they are a push fit. If you can get hold of a jam jar lid remover (they’re like a thick rubber band which fits through a shaped handle) this will free them without damage. Regards S
