Strip light attic

by leecroft » Wed Aug 13, 2008 3:29 pm

Hello everyone.
I have a single pole landing switch which i would like to change to a double pole switch, so that i can put a strip light into the attic. Whats the best way to wire the attic strip light. the circuit is a normal ceiling rose ring main.
Thanks Lee.

hi, changing to a double switch ain't gonna help much!
It will still require a new cable from switch to attic light as well as a cable from existing ceiling light to new light.
If you look at doc's projects section there is a circuit to show connections from existing rose L&N to stiplight and live & switch line to switch which is less messy if you use a pull switch in attic instaed of running down to other switch position.
You can't just take a supply from old switch as there will be no Neutral there.
