Strip lighting not working after replacing with new

Post by Donald57 » Mon Jun 06, 2022 6:16 pm

This concerns the fluorescent light in my kitchen.

The light recently failed, so I bought a replacement (model - Eveready T8 Fluorescent Tube: F58 T8/865)

I installed it, but it didn’t work.

So I figured that I would have to purchase a new fitting (model - Powermaster S6312).

After doing so, I paid an electrician to install the new light fitting and light.

It worked fine for a few days and then the light failed.

The electrician told me the fitting was fine and that it was the light that had failed.

He said the type of light that I had is almost obsolete and that I should buy LED strip lighting.

Would LED strip lighting be compatible with the fitting that I already have? Or would I have to buy another light fitting?

If the fitting is compatible for the installation of an LED strip light, could you supply a few links to retailers that sell compatible lights.

The way things are changing I would suggest you do as you said.

That way no compatibility issues.
