Support for Wall Needed or not to Prevent Walls Pushing out?

by par1sons » Mon Jun 18, 2018 10:34 pm

Hi all,

Do I need a support spanning left to right to stop the left and right wall from pushing out?

I want the centre area of the building free of joists because I want it open planned.

The building width is 6.5m x 3m, pitch is 16degrees. Roof tiles are sheet pressed slate so they weigh hardly anything... Much lighter than OSB boarding the entire roof area.

The walls be internally 12mm hardwood ply boarded throughout. Externally the walls will be clad using 25mm cladding. The front wall will be also externally ply boaded and the cladding applied on top.

The walls have 500mm bracing applied to the corners.
