Hi, I would like to know if it is permissable to run surface water from my roof into the soil stack? Can anybody help?

There are a couple of points raised here.

Firstly, you cannot simply connect the RWP directly to the stack. It must have a trap mechanism to prevent gasses escaping into the gutter which could / would filter into the house.

Also, many properties have separate sewers for foul water and surface water. If you have two then you cannot use the foul for SWD. You may be receiving a reduction in water rates because SWD is independent.

Hi Plumbbob, thanks for the reply. It is as I suspected. I think I have two sewers, so will not be going down that route. Regards, Graham
