Switched Bathroom Extractor fan Always Running

by chamsters » Fri Oct 20, 2017 5:19 pm

Hi folks,

I've seen a few threads on this and am *fairly* confident I know what the issue is, but I don't want to electrocute myself :)

Basically:
- Fan keeps running non stop
- Wiring shows that it is a switched fan
- there's a red power indicator on the fan. I've noticed that it does turn off but fan remains on when i turn off bathroom lights for extended period. however when i turn the lights back on, the LED switches back on - so it's obviously got some feed from the lighting mains.
- it runs even when humidity is way down - so it's unlikely due to residual humidity.

My GUESS is that the live and the switched live are swapped around. solution could be just to swap them around. does this make sense?

Happy to take some photos of the system if confirmation required.

Thanks!
