Tap Fitting?

Post by garlic--bread » Sun Jun 28, 2009 3:00 pm

Hi all, I'm new to this forum but need help with a problem. Been installing new bath tap (modern filler type) and they are made up with a brass fitting that screws into the base of the tap. while tightening this up, the fitting has sheared, leaving the thread inside the tap. Does anyone know where these fittings can be obtained, or would I have to buy a full new tap?

Cheers

The bolt(s) are only brass, so as you have found out, not very strong. If you can get the broken piece out, you will find it is a standard metric thread so an alternative should be readily available.
