The lights on one floor of my house dont work

Postby kmbowler » Mon Jan 26, 2009 12:46 am

Can anybody help me please.
The lights on the middle floor of my house dont work. The mini trip breaker tripped so i reset it and now none of the lights work.
I have used a power tracer to see if all the light units and switches have power to them, and they do, but still none of the lights work. I have now changed various bulbs but no luck and i have also renewed the 10 Amp mini trip breaker.

Any advice would be appreciated.

something obviously caused original trip, it may have been a variety of reasons but unless your test indicator lies, most likely fault is loose Neutral, possibly in consumer unit.
Fault finding is an art not everyone has, even otherwise good leckies, so be careful, use a 2 contact test device not a 'neon screwdriver'.
