Three cold radiators

Post by Vix9 » Wed Jan 07, 2009 10:40 am

Hi - I've got three radiators on three floors (rooms all on top of each other) which are stone cold. All other rads in the house work well. The pipe into the radiators is not hot andthere is no heat whatsoever in the rads. I had the system flushed through last year and all worked ok but this year there is no heat. Be grateful for any ideas as to how to fix.

Thanks very much Vix9

When the system was flushed it would be expected that an anti corrosion inhibitor would be installed to prevent any further sludging. One quick check, to prove the system is not blocked, would be to turn off all operating radiators leaving the cold ones open and see it the flow returns. If it does then have the system balanced in favour of these rads. If this does not help then the problem is hydraulic and I would suggect you get a heating engineer to check the pump, rad valves, pipework, etc.
