Toilet Disaster With Repalcing Handle and Flush Mechanism

Postby degsy70 » Mon May 20, 2019 3:28 pm

Hi All,

Toilet handle lever broke and I ordered a new one. It has an extended lever (the long metal bar). It is similar to the one in the image but longer. The problem I have is that as I screw the nut on and start tightening it the plastic threaded part is moving away as I turn. Even if I clamp the plastic part and I can see that it is not turning it is somehow being pushed down. In other words when you push the plastic tube on it 'clicks' like it's in place but as I screw it pushes it away from it's position and out of where it should be. Does that make sense? Am I doing something wrong?
