I have a top fix toilet seat which needs replacing. I was unable to find a seat anywhere that matched exactly but have purchased a replacement which fits. However, I am unable to remove the fixings for the current seat. The seat itself cannot be taken off the hinges so the whole seat and hinge arrangement need to be removed. I have managed to move the metal covers from the fixings to access the screw but having spent some considerable time trying to remove the screw it is clear that it is just twisting with no sign of loosening or comng out. This is the same on both sides. Has anyone got any suggestions please?
