Trimming Solid Wood Door to Size to Fit Existing Frame

by psailing » Wed Feb 19, 2020 4:16 pm

Hello,
I need to replace an internal flush door. I want to put in a 4 panel solid pine door. Problem: the door is 1882mm x 762mm, nearest fit "off the shelf" is the standard 1981mm x 762mm. The description of the door I'm looking at (Wickes Skipton Clear Pine 4 panel) says maximum trimmable from height is 12mm. The top rail and bottom rail look to have enough spare. Would I be ok to take 50mm off the top and 50mm of the bottom?
