I have a triton t80i shower. it cuts out after approx 2 mins. before it cuts out it appears to run cooler. the light stays on the unit and the pullcord switch. if i return to it approx 10-15 mins later it will run again. the water pressure appears to be the same. I have tried running it on a cold setting but it still cuts out. Its approximately 2 years old and has been problem free since fitting. Should i just rip it out as ive been told they arent a very good shower unit or can i save some hard earned and limited cash by fixing this one??? HELP!!!
Stumbled across this thread whilst researching why our Triton T80 Si is having the same issue. Looks highly likely it's the solenoid, which can be replaced for about a tenner.. unless you need the valve assembly done as well, which will cost you upwards of £35. Worth going for the solenoid alone, and seeing if that works for £10. Looks simple enough to test it with a multimeter & prob about 10 minutes to swap out.
FYI, I ended up getting a replacement solenoid for about £13 (incl. postage).. fitted it myself in about 5 minutes & the problem is solved. Definitely worth trying this before buying a totally new shower unit.
