Trouble fitting new mixer tap with Flexi hoses

by ryanaldo86 » Thu Aug 19, 2021 4:39 pm

Hi (a novice here),

I am needing to replace a kitchen mixer tap. I thought it would be as simple as taking out the old one and screwing the new Flexi hoses onto the pipe - as demonstrated in countless YouTube videos.

However I seem to have a problem in that my new hoses (shown in picture) are Female and the pipe also appears to female (the nut on the copper pipe is permanently fixed to the pipe (a flange??) I am told by someone) so I aren't sure of how to connect the two items (hose + pipe) together! (also not sure how the old hoses are connected to the pipe! - see pictures)

I have attached pictures - any help is appreciated!

Thankyou

Hi ryanaldo86
You will need 1/2” bsp male nipples to join the existing to new pipework. Make sure you buy parallel threaded ones.
