Does anyone know of any building regulations or recommendations with regards to position of trussed rafters in relation to studs in the stud wall? Common sense would suggest having trusses spaced same as studs in the wall. We are talking about single storey building with traditional timber construction. I have used 145mm by 45mm timber for all sole plate, bottom rail, studs, top rail, binder (wall plate). My understanding of binder/wall plate is to act as roof load transfer onto studs. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I went through Trada Timber Frame construction book and NHBC Standards book and couldn’t find anything about this. Your referenced comment would be much appreciated.
Attached is a picture showing trusses and studs misaligned.
