Two Traps in the Same run When Replacing Leaking Cast Iron Waste Pipe

Post by bobsyeruncle » Thu Apr 30, 2015 12:06 pm

Hi guys, I am replacing an old leaking cast iron waste pipe.

The 40mm waste from the kitchen goes into the cast iron pipe which discharges into the clay foul water pipe by way of a gully trap.

I don't want to touch the gully trap as it would be a nightmare (it's been concreted over).

I can get access to the mouth of the trap and have (temporarily) joined 110mm pvc soil pipe to this and have the kitchen waste discharging openly into this.

My thoughts were to cap the 110mm pipe with a screw access plug and boss the 40mm waste into the side of this pipe but that would leave two traps in the run (the trap at the kitchen sink and the gully trap)

Any help would be great
