Types of stormproof window hinges

Postby Bluelufc » Sun Nov 14, 2021 11:02 am

Can anyone help? I need to replace hinges on an upstairs window. I took a photo of hinge to replace and bought what I thought were the correct ones on eBay. When they arrived, they were the wrong type. Nearly right. The lengths ok but the widths are different. From the photos I've added could anyone advise me the name/type of hinge I am needing. The ones I need are a bit smaller in the width. One side is 24mm, the other is 16mm. The smaller side fits in the recess on window. I've noticed that all descriptions of hinges only give the lengths and not the width of each leaf!
Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi bluelufc,
Your old hinges are probably imperial size and all hinges are now metric. I doubt you will find an exact match.
