Was wondering if someone could offer some guidance - I have a picture rail (not sure correct name but in the middle of the wall). It's about 140mm wide, screwed and glued on. Painted.
I'm really struggling to pry it off. It is screwed on with 2 inch screws and glued on I think. The screws are difficult to find as it is deep inside the board - I've only been able to find them by sanding down parts and finding circly bits where it has been filled over the screws.
Pry bars and crowbars is the best I can do sadly. As the thing is glued and screwed on you are going to have to repair the plaster where it was, so I do not think there is much benefit to trying to be subtle with it, save your time for the repair. You will get to know where the screws are by where the timber bends from, but you will probably end up tearing the timber at the screws, and then removing the screws. Good Luck
