Under Stairs Doors and Frame for Utility Room

by McKnze21 » Mon Sep 28, 2020 7:39 pm

Hi

I have knocked out the plasterboard from under my stairs to create a utility room. I now want to fit two doors to close off the under stairs again.

My question, is how do I do this and what do I use exactly? Size & type wood? Screws or Nails? What type hinges? And can I just use like MDF & cut own door to size?

I had originally considers buying fold doors but as stairs are angled I reckon this is too difficult.

My plan is to have a small pull out drawer on runners at one end and then 2 doors at other end. See picture to see how it is now.

Thanks in advance!

Hi mcknze21
Mdf will be ok but you will have to use either T hinges or concealed hinges as used on most kitchens. Either way you will have to instal vertical studs to fix the hinges to.
