Undercloaking after soffit replacement question

Putting new undercloaking back after replacing sofits.

The undercloak boards are butted and not overlapped right?

The top of the fascia board is about 30mm above the top of the rafter, so the last bit of undercloak needs to kick up and rest on top of the fascia, right? Do I just fill the gap under it with a wood fillet? Or should I run the undercloak all the way down the rafter to the back of the fascia then put some muck in there and sit another piece of undercloak on top, resting on the top of the fascia?

Cheers!

Hi rich55,
Better to fit timber fillets as in your second drawing and then fit plywood on top. You can use 3.6mm thick ply if your joist spacing is 350-400mm, wider than this you'll be better off with 5.5mm. Fit the undercloak on top of the ply and this will ensure there is no ponding behind the facia.
