Hello everyone,

I’ve decided to change my upstairs switch. I did “copy-paste” from old switch. It working ‘if’ I’m not touching downstairs switch. If I do so, my upstairs smart have no power. I’ve tried many different combinations, but can’t find right one :/// . Maybe somebody knows the HOW?

Upstairs wires: 2 Browns, Silver, black & blue with brown sleeves, my smart switch have L, L1& L2 holes

Downstairs: brown, black & sliver with brown sleeves, standard one gang 2-way switch

It depends on the make of smart switch, mine come as master slave and both have to be same make and the S sensing wire lets the slave control the master.

Often the marking is not the same as a non smart switch, where L1 and L2 is not the change over contacts but two independent switches.

So with smart switches you have to read and follow the instructions that come with the switch, there is no one method for all.
