by texteditor » Tue Jul 09, 2013 4:25 pm

Have just taken delivery of the above, do I install them complete with door and opening light in position?
or remove them and refit later?
Thanks, texteditor.

fit the door first, you should have a joint strip, clamp it to the door with the window then fix it to the door frame and screw together

Sorry, they are totally separate, Question- Do I install the frames with the opening light and the door attached or do I remove the door and opening light and then fit the frames and then put the door and opening light back in the frames and fit the glass?
Thanks, texteditor.

no with the door attached and the sash in place, Fix the door hinge side first plumb and level, DO NOT fix the lock side until the window frame is fixed to the door, then eye up the frame as you close the door then fix it or it will be out of alignment

I have a Door
I also have a window

They are going in totally separate openings- there is about 500mm between them.

I fit them with door and opening light in place (thanks for that)
Can you outline the rest of the process please.
Thanks, texteditor.

with the door, fix in place hinge side first, make sure there is no bow in the frame, pack and fix the door cill level, then slowly close the door and eye the frame to align with the door, check the lock position and it closes perfectly, then drill and fix in position
the window is easier just make sure the frame is not twisted or out of level
