UPVC Beading Instalation problem

Post by williamwin » Sat Mar 31, 2007 5:44 am

I'm installing a UPVC back door - 1/2 panel, 1/2 glass. However the beading seems very difficult to locate and click in when the panel or glass is in place - they were fine without! I'm not sure what technique to use - brute force with hands isnt doing it, are there any tricks, tips or tools that I should use? I'm reluctant to hammer it in case of damage - I'd welcome advice.

Little trick on inserting beading is to put a little fairy liquid on the rubber and click one end of the bead into place, then literally slide the bead into place along the glass. The fairy helps to move it easilyand you push it into place as you slide. When you get about three quaters in, clip the opther end into place and the middle is just an extra push.
