Vertical Decking up House Wall

by jonseysafc » Mon May 25, 2020 11:16 pm

hi there, is it ok to screw decking vertically up a house wall above the damp course. I've built a new deck out the back of my house below the course but want to cover up my house brickwork by screwing decking vertically to the wall. would I need some sort of wooden frame or can I attach boards direct or neither. many thanks

Hi jonseysafc.
Fitting boards direct on the wall will stop damp escaping so you will need to fit segmented battening to allow air to circulate behind the boards.
