Vokera boiler losing nearly all pressure daily...?

by pmg1173 » Tue Oct 09, 2007 1:10 pm

2 problems, furthest away radiator is always cold, it was moved slightly when we first moved in by house builder as it was in the wrong position, only one affected. Hubby has cleaned out system and adjusted the thermostat on the radiator and seems to have helped, but the boiler is losing pressure daily, have raised it to 2, later in the day it is back at nearly 0. No obvious leaks that we can see, does it need repaired urgently if under the floor or is there an alternative. Don't want to call out anyone if something we could fix ourselves.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Firstly you need to find the problem.

If it's losing 2bar everyday I would imagine you would notice if it was a leak.

Check pressure relief valve isn't leaking (should terminate outside)
Check if pressure rises when the combi fill is turned off and heating on (if it does it could be pressure vessel or plate heat-ex at fault)

What is the boiler make and model ?
