Waterproof sealant.

by cicero » Wed Jul 20, 2011 9:07 am

I have a piece of hardwood across the front of my garage to prevent water getting in under the door but the sealant, which was put down when the garage was erected, is not doing the job and water is still getting in.

Can anyone suggest what is the best sealant to use under the timber or indeed any other method they think might do the job better.

I could put some concrete down but imagine that would soon break up if the car is regularly driven over it.

Any advice gratefully received.

for that application,You can use clear silicone sealant, lay a thick bead of sealant under the wood, and bed the timber onto it
