Weird Smell

by executive2912 » Wed May 02, 2007 8:15 pm

There is a fishy smell in one of the upstairs bedrooms when the heating is on! There is nothing dead underneath the floorboards as we have checked, even if there was our dogs would have sniffed it out! Can someone please give me an indication as to what it could be!

Very slight possibility that the floorboards have been treated with a preserver which may give off a smell when warm but in all honesty we have never come across this problem before.

Get your boiler checked out, the smell could be a sooty smell from the boiler which would also contain carbon monoxide. STOP USING THE BOILER UNTIL YOU HAVE HAD IT CHECKED. Transco on 0800 111999 will turn it off and make safe until you get a qualified Corgi engineer to test it.

if it was not the boiler it will be an electrical socket or fuse spur over heating the smell is caused by the plastic getting hot
