Welded joints on a upvc window frame have cracked

by jimbouk » Mon Feb 08, 2021 6:35 am

Hi all
One of my welded joints on a upvc window frame has cracked and has a small amount of water seepage coming through it in very heavy rain.
The plan is when better weather comes is to remove the window pane to see why the water is coming in at that point but i would like to re-seal the weld until i get round to this .
My plan was to rough the joint a little with a Dremel, then reseal the joint using either an exopy resing glue or an epoxy putty .
Would this be a suitable repair or are there better products available for such a repair?

Thanks in advance

Jim

Hi jimbouk
Velux used to have a kit for repairing damage to their white upvc windows. It a complete kit including the 2-part - may be worth using one of these.
