Wet Room Shower Enclosure not Draining Correctly

Postby Phrilly » Sun Jan 08, 2023 3:23 pm

Hi,
My Mum had a shower room fitted out as a wet room and a curved shower screen installed in it.

Unfortunately, whilst the majority of the water is being carried away and the enclosure is not flooding, the splash from the shower isn't all being contained and so quite a lot of water is then going into the room and not draining away.

The flow looks ok with the shower and has been laid on a former that directs the flow to the drain but the water that escapes the enclosure obviously doesn't drain and she has to mop this up.

I was thinking that possibly the best and easy option would be to replace the curved enclosure with a closed enclosure, however, I'm keen to ensure that the entrance to the shower doesn't have a raised lip that she might trip on.

Does anyone have any recommendations, please?

Many thanks

Simply Build It

Hi phrilly,
Given that you don’t want a floor frame (which a full enclosure would have) you only other option may be to fit a door hinged on the wall opposite the opening.
