Moved into flat and discovered this patch (see photo) of spongy material with a thin wooden border, under the floor covering. It covers the floor in a small room/closet. Does anyone know what that was for? Can I remove it or scrape it off?
Hi markusb, You have found standard carpet underlay with carpet gripper around the edges. It was probably Tredaire or something similar but both carpet and gripper have been wet for a long time. Regards S
