I know it sounds like a stupid question, but i'm just about to embark on fitting a new shower in a recess. Trouble is the gap from wall to wall is 1170mm (and tiled 1150mm). I know doors can be adjusted slightly, so was thinking of going for a 1200mm. But what about the tray? what is the best solution? Any comments greatly appreciated
Never fit a shower tray smaller than the gap. It WILL leak.
If you have a gap of 1170mm then you will need to chase the wall out slightly. Not a problem!
If the gap will only be 1150mm after tiling, check the recess door will fit this gap. They usually do, but you must check as you wouldn't be the first to get caught out.
