Where should water pump be ? - Boiler trips out

by jngostick » Sat Nov 22, 2008 8:22 am

Our back boiler keeps tripping out - we have had it serviced, checked etc and the best advice we have had is that we need a new boiler (seems the only advice - but it will cost us at least £2.8k)

We did convert to a pressurised system with a megaflow and had an overheat valve fitted and it started tripping out then (or maybe was much worse then).

The pressure is not dropping and the last advice we had was that all parts of the boiler were OK.

Might our problem be that the back boiler is downstairs and we have now put the pump in the loft and would this cause cavitation leading to hot air bubbles circulating and tripping out the boiler ?

Any advice really because I dont want to spend nearly £3k
