Hi, I'm sorry if this is a common question, but i hope someone will be able to help. I'm going to replace a wooden porch which is build on the side of the house. It currently has ridge tiles and cement, but i want to change it to slate. My main question is which timber will be good to use. It's about 4 metres wide and 3 metres high, pitched. It currently has corner posts measuring 100mmx100mm. I would like to replicate it exactly as is. I've looked at quite a few timbers and from reading i'm thinking of redwood and treating it. It will eventually be coated with Marine grade paint as we are on the coast. Thanks for your time. Dan
