Whistling central heating system

by Katebendall » Sun Jan 25, 2009 4:32 pm

I wonder if anyone can help? My central heating system has started making a high pitched whistling noise ( a bit like an old fashioned kettle when it had boiled) but i'm not sure whether it is coming from the boiler or the system itself. Does any one have any suggestions as to what could be the problem...my ears (and sanity) would be very greatful!

There are a few possibilities for this noise which would mean having the boiler and the heating system checked over. Better to have registered installer to have a look and have the offending component identified.

My neighbour had a boiler that whistled from the flue, which points right at my front door!
A new fan cured it before I got to it!!
