Will Radiator Thermostat That's Broken off Cause Issues?

Hi, the thermostat knob on one of my radiators has somehow got sheared off (see image)! It seems to be working fine, other than not being able to control the temperature is this likely to cause any problem? Is it dangerous in any way?

It will just be on its maximum now.

Watch the pin in the centre they tend to weep sometimes yours looks like it has in the past as it is corroded
