Wiring up Bathroom Mirror Light With Shaver Socket

by zeeman88 » Wed May 13, 2020 6:49 pm

Hi Guys

Firstly apologies if this has been covered numerous times before.

Just a quick one, I have bought a bathroom mirror which has a light and shaver socket built in, light is operated via a pull cord and shaver socket via a switch. I was planning to take this off the lighting circuit, the circuit is RCD protected. I would like this to work independent from the main lights, therefore my question is what method should I use? I was thinking the following options:

a. Wire it up through a switch so it can be left on when required.
b. Wire it through an FCU but not sure if that is really needed?
c. Wire it through an isolator switch.

Im no professional and want to make sure it is up to regs and done the best way.

Im in Scotland
