Removed tiles and old laminate type subfloor. Wooden planks sitting on joist now. Some of the planks were damp and had a black layer on them. Dried them out and will apply a treatment to them. Are they suitable for reuse with a hardie backer board on top prior to tiling? Or should I remove and put down plywood?
Also, if I keep them, what adhesive can I use between them and the backer board?
Hi connor333 There are many decoupling mats on the market but if you are just doing the loo may be worth finding a friendly tiler who can sell you a piece off a roll. Make sure your floor is sound and fixed down and remove the loo, hand basin and bath side framework to give a clear working area. Regards S
