Wooden Window Frame and Painting Over Silicone

by besieger0 » Thu Oct 18, 2018 7:11 pm

I'm no builder but I made up a wooden window frame for my nan's shed.
I sealed it and ran my finger down the frame sealant so it would fill the gap properly. I think I used too much, not to o sure, but it smeared all over the wood. It has a coat of wood paint (not sure what that is either as I left nan to do that part and grandad used to be a painter so he knows what stuff to get.) She's gonna give it another couple coats now and we've probably done it the wrong way round but I don't know if she can paint over the silicone. I know generally you can't but I wiped it down as much as possible with a damp cloth so it's just in the grains of the wood. Question is, will it cover?
