Woodworm treatment has stained my floorboards

by NaethanE » Sun Apr 22, 2007 9:16 am

I am in the process of restoring wooden floorboards, and have placed woodword treatment over the areas that showed signs of infestation. However the treatment I have used has darkened the wood, and now I have patches of stain wherever I put the treatment.

Does anyone know how I can remove the staining? Is there a wood bleach I could use?

Most decorators merchants will be able to order wood bleach for you but its not an exact science by any means and getting back to teh original colour is a very long shot. Its sometimes better to give it all a coat of stain to get the same colour throughout.
