Yorkstone pavers and sunken yard drainage advice needed

by trog54 » Mon Jul 19, 2021 9:53 pm

Hi I have a sunken yard area to the rear of my house paved with yorkstone pavers, sloping towards the house and level with the internal floor; They've probably been there as long as the house 100 years+
I want to install some drainage and relay the slabs to slope away. The yard is sunk 500mm below rear garden level. Photos attached. Any suggestions about what drainage and where would be gratefully received.

Hi trog54
Unless you substantially lower the patio to well below internal floor level you will probably suffer from damp in your wall and floors. You could run the new patio falls towards the existing gulley.
