Replacing a toilet and a rotten bathroom floor
How to replace a close coupled toilet, especially when the wooden bathroom floor is rotten! Replacing a toilet, either close-coupled or high level is not too difficult. Isolate the water from the mains or an isolation valve. With some basic plumbing skills you can remove the cistern and pull out the toilet pan quite easily. Replacing the floor must be done carefully and a thorough check must be done for all forms or rot and wood boring insects. Look for wet rot, dry rot and emergence holes from insects. Treat the floor well by painting of spraying on some Lumberjack wood treatment. Look at our website pages to see how to replace the toilet, replace the timber floor and how to lay the laminate flooring.
