It's our job this week to make something decent out of this piece of concrete backyard that you can see in this picture here

As you can see it was crack to pieces. We've dug some of those cracks out to make them bigger to allow us to repair them and we've chosen a company called Resistall and their fantastic repair products to make these repairs

That's quite a coarse aggregate, so we leave that one about 15mm from the top of the concrete

and then we finalise the repair with the epoxy high performance repair mortar

Okay, so that gives us the top coating, allows us to feather it out and get it nice and smooth

to mix this up now with a paddle mixer. You'll see that being done and then we're going to apply this to a few of the cracks. This is great stuff. This goes into around about 50 millimetres

deep. Any deeper than that use the deep fill and then you can finish it off with the repair

It's flexible, it's epoxy, it will move with the concrete, it doesn't crack, it binds, it doesn't shrink back

It's going to give us a really hard-wearing surface, which isn't going to crack under any kind of weather conditions so that we can paint over it
