If the lights are extra low voltage amps can be quite high a 60W 12V draws 5 amp and the little pins at the back of the light get quite hot and as a result the lamp holder becomes damaged. Moving the lamp can easy temporary remake the connection so disturbing the lamp while changing a transformer or inverter can start it working again.
The other cause could be the transformer is not big enough for the bulb and has burnt out.
Although likely there can also be a host of other faults if the bulb has blown or pins are making bad connection you may get it working if swapped with one of the others.
Same applies to holder swapping with another lamp is easy way to find fault.
