21.5mm Trap for Heat Exchanger Fan Unit

Post by carbar » Wed Feb 19, 2014 7:18 pm

Hello.

I have just bought a heat exchange extractor fan that has an outlet for condensation which requires 21.5mm upvc pipe.

According to the installation instructions, I need to fit a trap to this outlet, but the only thing I can find is a straight-through trap (e.g. http://www.plasticdrainage.co.uk/condensate-straight-through-trap-21-5mm).

I'd rather have something more like a bottle trap or p-trap, but I can't see anything the right size.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Carl

Hi carbar

Just a thought, but how about making your trap with solvent weld elbows, and a compression coupler for maintenance.

Hello.

Thanks for the reply.

That is certainly an idea, although I can't see anywhere that supplies 21.5mm compression fittings. The closest seems to be push fit, which I suppose would be good enough for this.

Thanks,

Carl
