3/4" Female connection on shower control unit - fitting

by Sav » Mon Feb 25, 2008 1:53 pm

Hi all, hopefully someone can help me out here, I'm in the process of fitting a new shower at my home and the shower control unit comes with 4 x 3/4" Female connections two in, two out.

None of these have rubber washers or seals of any kind and I'm having trouble finding something to fit it to the 22mm pipes which will not leak. Currently I've used these fittings:

but it just leaks as there's nothing to seal the connection??

does anyone have any idea where I can get a fitting for this, there doesn't seem to be one on the Screwfix website??

many thanks[/img]

i may have just found the answer to my query, would Fernox Jointing Compound (or similar) do it?

just smear it on the thread before I tighten it?

Hi
You need PTFE tape to wind round the male thread before screwing into the female. Tape available any DIY supply place. Think about which way to wind round so that tape does not unwind as you screw in.
cheers.
